Overview of Intentwave

Intentwave enables you to recognize and engage with visitors on your website by gathering data through a pixel embedded in your site. This data includes user behavior, device specifications, and personal information shared by visitors. With this information, we create detailed visitor profiles that can be leveraged for customized marketing and outreach efforts.

Legal Compliance Requirements

To ensure compliance with U.S. privacy laws, especially the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), we require the following from all users of our service:

1. Privacy Policy Updates

To ensure compliance with the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), your privacy policy must include specific disclosures regarding the data collection and usage practices enabled by IntentWave. We advice incorporating the following language into your privacy policy:

"When you interact with our website, we use cookies and similar technologies to gather information about your activity. This includes data such as the pages you visit, the links clicked, and device-specific information like your IP address, browser type, and operating system. We may also collect personal information such as your name, email address, and phone number. To provide enhanced services and relevant marketing, we may supplement this information with data obtained from third-party sources, including public databases, marketing partners, affiliate networks, and data providers. This may include details like mailing addresses, job titles, intent data, social media profiles, and other user behavior data. By combining this information, we can deliver personalized communications, targeted advertising, and content aligned with your interests. You have the right to opt-out of personalized communications and data collection practices at any time. For more information about how we process and protect your data, please contact [Insert company email address], or opt out directly ."

Managing an Opt-Out

Adding an option for users to opt out of this form of data collection in the privacy policy is also recommended. We suggest adding a company email address along with linking to our database opt-out form.

Ways to provide Opt-Out:

  1. Email

  2. Link to an Opt-Out form

2. Cookie Banner

IntentWave offers our own cookie consent banner but if you have an existing one you must ensure it does the following:

  • Obtains affirmative consent from visitors before deploying cookies or similar technologies.

  • Clearly informs visitors about the types of data being collected and the purpose of this collection.

  • Provides an option for visitors to opt out of data collection.
